FLOWER SHADER...

The mentors gave great things to think about in terms of petal tactility. Based on their feedback, I wanted to add displacement and more veining.

Thanks to Professor Fowler, I had physical camellias to study. Professor Gaynor also provided a light table and microscope. I studied the subsurface scattering and color, the veining, and the cell structure under the microscope.

I then sprinkled water onto the petals to see how the light interacted with each surface. I was mostly interested in caustics and contact shadows. Afterword, I put multiple flowers together to observe depth of field.
