FLOWER SHADER...
The adjustments I wanted to make this week were very minute. The mentors had good things to say about the state of the flower shader, so I only wanted to soften the edges of the veining, and make sure the displacement is noticeable.
Starting with the displacement, I used the map I already had, but experimented with different height values.

I didn't want to go too intense with the displacement, so my plan was to have a fairly low height. However, I did want to see some more veins, which is why I went into photoshop and edited my displacement and subsurface maps.
Original Displacement New Displacement
After implementing the new maps, I experimented with the white and black offsets to control how intense the colors of the veins were compared to the rest of the petals.
I realized my subdivision height was set to "none," so I tried "catclark" instead. I was hoping the model would look smoother. While the vein displacement did appear softer, I was getting unwanted wrinkles. Increasing the samples didn't get rid of the problem, so I opted to go back to my original subdivision setting.
